Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is an
Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian national cricket team as well as the
Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was born on December 6,
1993, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
Bumrah is a right-arm fast bowler known for
his unique bowling action and ability to bowl accurate yorkers at the death
overs of a match. He made his debut for the Indian cricket team in January 2016
in a T20I against Australia and has since then become an integral part of the
Indian bowling attack across all formats of the game.
Some of Bumrah's notable achievements in
international cricket include:
- Taking 78 wickets in 19 Tests at an average of 21.49
- Taking 123 wickets in 80 ODIs at an average of 23.21
- Taking 59 wickets in 58 T20Is at an average of 20.32
- Being the first Asian bowler to take five-wicket
hauls in South Africa, England, and Australia in Test cricket
- Being the second-fastest Indian bowler to reach 100
ODI wickets, in just 57 matches.
Bumrah's success in cricket can be
attributed to his accuracy, pace, and ability to bowl different variations of
deliveries. He is also known for his calm and composed demeanor on the field,
which makes him a valuable asset to the Indian cricket team.
